Summary

Robbi Firestone is a contemporary American artist whose practice examines the intersection of beauty, ethics, and urgency, exploring how individuals metabolize fear and construct meaning in the present moment.

Her work moves between two tracks: meditative paintings rooted in abstracted land and sky, and conceptual projects that engage social critique and action.

Her paintings use beauty as refuge, inviting slow seeing, reverence, and self-recognition. Her conceptual works employ unconventional materials such as snack foods, traditional women’s work, or medical supplies. In her ongoing project Existential Snacks,: Food For Thought familiar American snack foods function as a Trojan horse, confronting viewers with ethical and existential unease beneath surfaces of seduction and comfort.

Influenced by feminist art history, environmental ethics, and existential philosophy, Firestone creates work that functions as commentary, witness, and provocation. She lives and works between New York City and Santa Fe.
